Seen: Denver Health Foundation’s NightShine fundraiser 2019

April 4, 2019

I’ll bet you anything that as we speak, the staff at the Denver Health Foundation is turning cartwheels, either literally or figuratively, over the $1.4 million success of NightShine, its signature fundraiser.

Oh, go on, you say?

Seriously, they’d just be following the lead set by Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats at the March 30 gala held at the Hyatt Regency Convention Center.

When the 1,600 guests called out for more music following an hour-long show that ended with the group’s breakout hit, “S.O.B., I Need a Drink,”  Rateliff didn’t just walk back onto the NightShine stage, he also turned a cartwheel as he took his place in front of his band.

Which brought another round of cheers and applause, and when reached by email on Monday, foundation staffer Candice Farrington Jones shared how putting on a good show wasn’t the only cool thing that Rateliff and his fellow musicians did that day.
