Winners of 2013 Hot Rocks Griller Challenge announced

From examiner.com: Last Wednesday, June 12, 2013, Elway’s Cherry Creek hosted the 2013 Hot Rocks Griller Challenge. The red carpet was rolled out at this wonderful event to assist the Denver Health Foundation raise awareness of the many men’s health issues and programs. Attendees were elbow to elbow, in the courtyard just south of Elway’s, as the chef’s and their staff created the many sliders, sides and desserts in this griller challenge. VIP’s were able to enjoy the VIP Lounge as the many beautifully dressed women brought trays of the various sliders and sides to them to enjoy with their favorite libation or suggested Cupcake Wine.
After a brief visit to the lounge My Wife and I wandered around the courtyard where we were able to enjoy the entertainment provided by Chris Daniels and the Kings as we made our way to the many other delectable slider and sides we had tasted yet. We even managed to have some great conversations with a few of the celebrities like Les Shapiro, media personality, Haven Moses and Brian Griese, former Denver Broncos. When speaking with them each of them they expressed the pleasure they were getting out of being ambassadors to the Foundation as they raise awareness for the men’s programs which have been shadowed by the Women’s programs and events.
Attendees were able to purchase chips in various denominations which they used to vote for their favorite slider, side or dessert. The competition was very close and it was hard to choose who we wanted to vote for. My favorite, which was very hard to pick, was Elise Wiggins of Panzano’s Wild Boar Agro Dolce with Gorgonzola, Shalloot & Rocket and Grilled Pineapple, Corn & Basil Salad and my wife’s choice, with little thought, was Paul Reilly from Beast and Bottle’s Grilled Watermelon Caprese, Burrata, 12 Year Balsamic, Pork Belly and Pork Belly Collard Greens, neither of which was chosen as winners.
