OneRepublic performs at Denver Health

DENVER – OneRepublic was the featured performer Saturday at the annual Denver Health Foundation Night Shine Gala.

The Grammy-nominated group,  which got its start in Colorado, performed for Denver Health pediatric patients and their families at the Child Life ZONE at Denver Health before the gala.  The ZONE is a designated space at the hospital for children.

After performing band members visited with children and their families.

“If you are sick enough that you are in the hospital and you can't get out, and you're attached to a bunch of wires and meds and waiting on surgery and waiting on organs, waiting on a miracle, the least that we can do is make your Friday or Saturday the best day you've had all week, then that's the least we can do,” said band founder Ryan Tedder.

OneRepublic, formed in Colorado Springs in 1996 by Ryan Tedder and Zach Filkins, are platinum-selling recording artists and Grammy Award nominees whose albums include “Dreaming Out Loud,”  “Waking Up,” and “Native.”

Saturday night's gala is raising support for construction of the Southwest Family Health Center.
