Michael Schiavo is the donor impact communications administrator for Denver Health Foundation, where he focuses on donor research, correspondence, strategy and language across Foundation communications. He received his undergraduate degree in humanistics from the University of Connecticut and holds a master of fine arts from the Bennington Writing Seminars, as well as a master of arts in Eastern classics from St. John’s College.

A professional writer and poet, Michael’s work has appeared in The Believer, Boston Globe, Hartford Courant, The Yale Review and numerous other publications. He has been a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and other organizations focused on alleviating poverty.

Michael loves working for Denver Health Foundation and believes passionately in Denver Health’s mission to serve every person who walks through their doors—regardless of their ability to pay—and its focus on the root causes of health, and eliminating social and economic disparity in our society.
