A self-described “recovering attorney,” Carol left her law career over 20 years ago to serve non-profits. Her public service as a city councilor in Golden and in Loveland brought her so much satisfaction by making an impact in her community that she chose to close her law firm and focus on the two non-profit missions she is most passionate about: healthcare and education.

Carol’s law career prepared her well for the Foundation’s Gift Planning Officer role as she enjoyed private practice as an elder law attorney focusing on estate planning and administration. Broadening her legal career, she also was in-house legal counsel in the Denver energy industry. A political science B.A. graduate from Western Illinois University and a Juris Doctorate graduate from University of Denver, Carol is licensed in Colorado and Ohio.

Passionate about securing healthcare, Carol’s first non-profit position was with the Alzheimer’s Association as its Manager of Individual Gifts and Planned Giving. Later she served as VP of Development and Planned and Major Gifts Director with Banner Health in Phoenix and Loveland. Education fundraising was her focus as Director of Planned and Major Giving at Thunderbird School of Global Management and as Director of Major Gifts and Planned Giving at Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming.

Always active in community leadership, besides her roles on two city councils, Carol has served on numerous boards, commissions and HOAs. In her free time, she is an active hiker, enjoys concerts, and is always eager to plan activities for other mature adults.
