Mother is a verb. It’s not just a role, it’s an action, one that can be done by many – women, men, family, friends, neighbors, teachers.  Some mothers give physical birth, but mothering means to care for and provide affection, to rear and heal and protect. And mothering is work. It can be a gift and it can be a challenge – sometimes both at once –but it reliably requires strength and effort.

Through funds raised by Denver Health Foundation, Denver Health providers execute programs that help mothers to be the strongest and healthiest they can be.  Whether it’s prenatal mental health care, the comforting hand of a doula in childbirth, the connections made in group well-child visits, or the relief of parenting resources– Denver Health supports the health of mothers. This Mother’s Day, and every day, Denver Health Foundation is proud to support mothering.
