Mike Ferrufino, President and CEO of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Metro Denver, brings a strong understanding of the Hispanic community and Hispanic business issues to many organizations. He has significant experience developing complex business strategies and leading strategic partnerships, as well as hands-on knowledge of electronic broadcast issues honed as the vice president and general manger of Latino Communications, a local, minority-owned, Denver-based media company that serves as the owner and operator of four Spanish Language radio stations in Colorado (KBNO-1280 in Denver, KXRE-1490/98.5 FM in Colorado Springs and KAVA 1480 AM in Pueblo).
Together the Radio stations reach over 200,000 Hispanics weekly, and Mike was responsible for leading the company’s growth strategy, elevating the client experience and overseeing day-to-day operations.
In addition to his work in Spanish language media, Mike also has been involved in companies that operate in the entertainment and hospitality industries. He formerly owned a 25,000 square foot/five-acre event center and a promotional group responsible for producing, planning and marketing entertainment events primarily targeting the Hispanic market, with attendance between 2,000 and 20,000 per event.
Mike has sat on the board of directors and participated with numerous non-profit organizations, including: the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Denver, the Colorado Children’s Campaign, Robby’s Friends, Mi Casa Resource Center, the Hispanic Education Foundation and the Ohio Center for Broadcasting. He is most passionate about closing educational achievement gaps, pediatric oncology, mental health awareness, and the opportunities and challenges that face the Hispanic business community and the Hispanic community as a whole (with an emphasis on education and healthcare). Additionally, in a non-board member capacity, he has chaired, co-chaired or played substantial roles in events or programs that have benefited organizations whose primary mission focus is on health care, education and/or the Hispanic community.
Mike, a Denver native, has two children, Oscar and Nora.
