Steve Clark first became involved with Denver Health in the early 1990s when he was a member of then-Denver Mayor Wellington Webb’s Healthy Futures 2000 Task Force. The task force was set up to evaluate the best operating environment for what was at that time the Department of Health and Hospitals for the City and County of Denver. In 1997, he led a team from an investment banking firm to provide financial advice and underwriting services to the newly formed Denver Health and Hospitals Authority (DHHA).
He continued to work with Denver Health through its first bond offering in 1998. In 2001, after starting his own firm, SB Clark Companies, which specializes in public finance consulting, he was retained to act as financial advisor to DHHA.
Steve was recruited to the Denver Health Foundation (DHF) Board of Directors in 2001, and assumed the role of chairman in 2004 until 2008. “I am delighted to help raise funds for the Denver Health Foundation, which supports the essential public safety net healthcare system provided by Denver Health,” he said. “I am most interested in the continued growth and success of the foundation so that someday, this organization is as successful and productive as its counterparts in Denver and around the country.
